Federal Legislative Reports focus on congressional activity to federally fund schools, committee hearings and legislative action, and Department of Education and White House notices that impact Illinois school districts. Federal Legislative Reports are published monthly and IASB sends Federal Updates when IASB members need real-time notice.Calls-to-Action

New School Laws
Published at the beginning of each year, the IASB Government Relations staff compiles a comprehensive list of new laws that impact public education and the Illinois education community. The summary of new state laws is intended to alert school leaders and public-school advocates to new statutes or changes in existing laws each year. The new laws are categorized by topic and include the bill and public act number, and the effective date.End of Session Report
The End of Session Report highlights significant bills the IASB Governmental Relations team engaged with during the Spring Session of the Illinois General Assembly. Brief descriptions of bills that were supported, opposed, or amended by IASB, and how the proposals impact Illinois public education, are featured. The report includes information on the state budget, a quick overview of General Assembly action, and proposals that failed to pass but will likely be debated in future years.
