The Illinois Association of School Boards congratulates members of its team on receiving the 2023 Trusted Leader Award for Education.

Lori Grant, IASB Associate Executive Director for Board Development, and Patrick Allen, Field Services Director, were present to receive the award at ceremonies on November 9 at the Trusted Leader Summit in Minneapolis. IASB Field and Equity Services Director Natalie Williams-McMahon is also a certified Trust Edge trainer.

The award was presented to the Illinois Association of School Boards, “For their impact on education leaders through the delivery of Trust Edge workshops with association members, school boards, superintendent groups, administration teams, and all school staffs,” according to the Trust Edge Leadership Institute announcement.

Criteria for the award included:
  • Consistently measuring and solving gaps in trust;
  • Cascading a high-trust culture with a common language;
  • Embodying all eight pillars of the Trust Edge Framework;
  • Achieving high performance and results because of increased trust; and
  • Influencing their greater community as a high-level trust leader.
IASB Trust Edge coaches work with Illinois boards of education to share the Trust Edge 8-Pillar Framework with the goal of building high-performing teams by creating a common language to build connection, improve clarity, and increase productivity.

“This team has done excellent work in Illinois helping local boards of education and their superintendents better their governance relationships with the eight pillars of trust, in turn impacting local communities and the students that their teams serve,” said IASB Executive Director Kimberly Small, J.D.

The Trusted Leader Summit brings executives, entrepreneurs, educators, and leaders from across industries for a conference that combines high-impact mainstage sessions and collaborative networking with tailored elements and facilitated problem-solving. The event is led by and based on the work of trust expert David Horsager, author of The Trust Edge and The Trusted Leader and CEO of Trust Edge Leadership Institute.

Trust Edge Leadership Institute co-founders David Horsager and Lisa Horsager, with IASB team members Nakia Hall, Lori Grant, Patrick Allen, Katie Bulava, and Kimberly Small.
