The Illinois Association of School Boards is working with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to offer a webinar series on Data Literacy for school board members. The three webinars are based on the Illinois Report Card, ISBE’s annual report that shows how the state, districts, and schools are progressing on a range of educational metrics.
Data Literacy I: The Illinois Report Card

In part I of the series, experts from ISBE will decipher the basics of the Illinois Report Card to enhance board members’ understanding of navigating crucial educational data. The Illinois Report Card presents data on how the state, districts, and schools are progressing. It offers an annual snapshot on student progress and school performance. This webinar will help board members elevate their understanding of this important monitoring tool.
Data Literacy II: Understanding Summative Designations

Exemplary, Commendable, Targeted, Comprehensive, Intensive. The summative designations on the Illinois Report Card help families and communities understand how well schools are serving all students. In Part II of the Data Literacy series, learn about the key metrics, performance indicators, and methods used to determine the Annual Summative Designation for each school.
