ISBE Updates for July 2024

State Board of Education Will Adopt ACT Science Assessment
The Illinois State Board of Education has committed to adopting the ACT science accountability assessment for Grade 11 during the 2024-2025 school year. This will eliminate the need for the separate Illinois Science Assessment with the ACT to now include English, math, reading, science, and writing.

Illinois Report Card Timeline and Overview Webinar
ISBE will host a webinar on July 9 from 10-11:30 a.m. that will include an overview of the Illinois Report Card data collection, review, and finalization process. The webinar will include key dates and deadlines, as well as tools to help ensure districts submit accurate data. Registration for the webinar is available on the ISBE website. 

Grant Application and Management Webinar
ISBE and the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA) will host a webinar at 9 a.m. on July 23 to assist districts with navigating the grant application process and understanding compliance requirements. The webinar will cover grant budget development, expenditure and periodic reporting, side-based financial reporting, Evidence-Based Funding, GATA approval, and other ISBE financial resources available.
