COSSBA Presents Title IX Webinar on July 9
Join officials from the U.S. Department of Education and school legal experts from Bose McKinney and Evans, LLP, for a webinar explaining the newly released Title IX Regulations and what their implementation and enforcement will mean for public school districts. Understanding the New Title IX Regulations is scheduled for July 9 at noon (Central Time).

Federal Advocacy Conference
Registration remains open for the Consortium of State School Boards Association (COSSBA) Federal Advocacy Conference, September 8-10, 2024, in Washington D.C. COSSBA and IASB will be working with attendees to set up meeting opportunities with federal education policymakers and Illinois Congressional officials.

Illinois school board members are invited to attend and encouraged to share their voices at the national level. The event includes a Monday evening reception and a full Tuesday of panel sessions and training in preparation for Lobby Day on Wednesday, September 10. The early registration rate is $625 until July 15 and $675 thereafter.

COSSBA Leadership Summit

The focus was leadership of state school board associations and networking with other state school board association leaders. Topics for learning included Board of Directors/Executive Director relationships, strategic planning, and state associations sharing their successes.

Urban Boards Alliance Webinars
The next installment in the Urban Boards Alliance webinar series will take place on August 21. Social Economics and Its Impact on Students Academically will offer insights on “Understanding the intricate relationship between socioeconomic status and student achievement is imperative for policymakers and stakeholders.”

The next webinar has been added for October. Meeting the Academic Needs of Your Homeless Students will take place October 16.

Past UBA webinars, including Strategies for Addressing Equity in Your District from April 2024, are available for on-demand viewing via the COSSBA website.
