Deadline Approaching: School Board Governance Recognition Application  

The deadline for member boards of education that wish to apply for the 2024 School Board Governance Recognition program is July 1. This program presents an opportunity for school boards to showcase how good governance is making a positive impact in their districts.  

School Board Governance Recognition acknowledges local boards of education that practice effective governance behaviors as outlined by IASB's Foundational Principles of Effective Governance. The program focuses on full board development and participation, rather than individual accomplishments.  

IASB member school boards are invited to apply for this recognition which covers a two-year period: July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024. Once this recognition is received, boards may re-apply every two years. Boards that were recognized in 2023 should not apply this year.
