IASB has resources available to help school districts develop an effective process for identifying and recruiting prospective school board members and mentoring them through candidacy and beyond.
Recently updated, “A School Board’s Guide to Identifying, Recruiting, and Mentoring Future School Board Members” supports the work of local boards of education in developing an effective, ongoing process for finding school board candidates. Topics included in the guide can be used by school leaders when talking with individuals who may have questions about school board service.
“A School Board’s Guide to Identifying, Recruiting, and Mentoring Future School Board Members” offers prompts for discerning the “whys” of school board service and key points about the role to share with potential candidates.
Plus, a webinar is schdueld to further highlight this important topic. The Identifying, Recruiting, and Mentoring Future School Board Members webinar is scueduled for July 25 at noon.
