Federal Advocacy Conference
Registration is open for the Consortium of State School Boards Association (COSSBA) Federal Advocacy Conference, September 8-10, 2024, in Washington D.C. Illinois school board members are invited to attend and encouraged to share their voices at the national level. The event includes a Monday evening reception and a full Tuesday day of panel sessions and training in preparation for Lobby Day on Wednesday, September 10. COSSBA and IASB will be working with attendees to set up meeting opportunities with federal education policymakers and Illinois Congressional officials.

Urban Boards Alliance Webinars
The next installment in the Urban Boards Alliance webinar series will take place on August 21. Social Economics and Its Impact on Students Academically will offer insights on “Understanding the intricate relationship between socioeconomic status and student achievement is imperative for policymakers and stakeholders.”
Past UBA webinars, including Strategies for Addressing Equity in Your District from April 2024, are available for on-demand viewing via the COSSBA website. The Urban Board Alliance (UBA) is a vibrant arm of the Consortium of State School Boards Associations, dedicated to nurturing the development and success of school boards across the country.
COSSBA, the Consortium of State School Boards Associations, is a non-partisan, national alliance dedicated to sharing resources and information to support, promote and strengthen state school boards associations as they serve their local school districts and board members. Illinois is a founding member of COSSBA.
