Board of Directors Announces 2025 Conference Scholarship for Board Members

The IASB Board of Directors has developed the Joint Annual Conference Scholarship Program, now in its second year, to support IASB member school boards with professional development. The program will support school board members from districts that have not previously attended the Conference and who represent districts with financial need.  

The scholarship offers recipients the opportunity to enhance professional growth at the nation’s premier statewide gathering of public education leaders. Each scholarship recipient will be assigned an IASB Director, who will serve as a mentor and guide to maximize the learning opportunities at the Joint Annual Conference.

IASB understands that attending conferences can sometimes be financially challenging for school districts and offers these scholarships to ensure Illinois school board members have an opportunity to attend. The scholarship to the 2025 Joint Annual Conference will cover:

• The $540 Conference registration fee.
• A daily meal allotment of $75 per day.
• Expense reimbursement of $99.99 per recipient.

The scholarship will allow the recipient to reserve a room at one of the Conference hotel blocks, based on availability, but the district will be responsible for the cost of housing, the housing deposit, and daily room charges, taxes, and/or parking fees, subject to state law.

The application for the Joint Annual Conference Scholarship for IASB Board Members is open. The application deadline is April 30, 2025.
