Nominations Open for the 2025 Holly Jack Outstanding Service Award

Each year, IASB presents the Holly Jack Outstanding Service Award to one administrative professional who exhibits a passion for public education and goes above and beyond the expectations of their position.

The Holly Jack Award is named in memory of longtime IASB Administrative Assistant Holly Jack. The award honors the dedication and service provided by administrative professionals who assist their local boards of education and perform the duties of the school board secretary. To be eligible, individuals must exhibit characteristics Holly Jack considered instrumental to serving in the position. Those traits include
  • Performance: Always going the extra mile to serve the district’s educational staff, school board, community members, and students.
  • Initiative: Demonstrates independent problem-solving ability.
  • Innovation: Demonstrates imagination in the work environment.
  • Staff Development: Strives to empower, embrace, and equip colleagues with knowledge and resources to achieve their goals and reach their professional and personal potential.
  • Individual Professional Development: Demonstrates a desire for continuous professional development, improvement, and excellence.
  • Passion: Demonstrates a passion for public education.
  • Dedication: Devotes time and energy to improving the quality of life for others in the educational community and the district's education quality.
Nominations must be for a current district employee serving as an administrative professional (superintendent’s secretary, superintendent’s administrative assistant, or school board recording secretary) who has performed the work required of the school board secretary for at least five years.

For the 2025 Holly Jack Award, the deadline to submit application forms and nomination letters from the board president and district superintendent is September 15. Up to five additional letters of support from individuals may be included (at least one letter of support is required). More information about qualifying criteria is available in the application.

The Holly Jack Outstanding Service Award will be presented during the Administrative Professionals’ Program at the 2025 Joint Annual Conference on November 21.
