Answers to FAQs Regarding Conflict of Interest and Incompatible Offices
Revised June 2024The Illinois Council of School Attorneys (ICSA) has compiled an FAQ guidance document for Illinois school districts regarding Conflict of Interest and Incompatible Offices. The FAQ includes answers to a number of questions on a variety of topics, including incompatibility of offices, removal of a board member, board member interest in school contracts, nepotism, the gift ban and prohibited political practices, the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act, grant accountability and conflict of interest, fiduciary duty and the Oath of Office, among others.
